Update on Burl City boy killed

This child was a 4 yr old not a 7 yr old like previously written.Burlington City Nj Police Chief John Lazzarotti said the boy and a 16 yr old relative were crossing the highway at the High Street intersection at 5:15 pm when a northbound pickup truck driven by a man on a cell phone made a right hand turn on red and struck the boy.A witness at the accident scene said'the truck dragged the boy a short distance under its front bumper before it came to a complete stop.
Lazzarotti said the child was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.He said the relative accompanying the boy and the driver were not injured.Last month the Tri-State Transportation Campaign named Burlingtons County stretch of rte 130 and Atlantic Countys White Horse Pike as the 2 most damgerous roads in New Jersey for pedestrians.

Sara Weakly update

Sara Weakley Oct 9 2008 age 21 of Browns Mills NJ died Thursday October 9 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Born in Mt.Holly NJ she was a lifetime area resident.
Sara was a graduate of Pemberton Twnship High School and had attended Rowan University in Glassboro.She was employed at the Guess Store at the Jackson Outlets and also worked as a nanny.Sara was in the honor Society while at Pemberton Twp High School and was the team manager
for the boys football,baseball,wrestling and tennis teams.She had been an alter server at St Anns Church in Browns Mills NJ.
She is survived by her mom Kim Hemphill of Browns Mills,her father,Roger Weakley and companion Jeanne Wootman of Mercerville.Her grandparents Mr & Mrs Tom Hemphill of New Eygpy and Jean Muschal of Hamilton NJ.Her boyfriend Oscar Smith of Presidential Lakes,a brother Fred Tucker of Trenton,a sister Samantha Weakly of Browns Mills,a half-sister,Rebecca Burrows of Burlington NJ,3 aunts,Suzanne Kern of Vermont,Tammy Harper of Jacobstown NJ and Teresa Hemphill of Las Vegas.NV;four uncles,Ralph weakly of Hamilton Square,Jim Hemphill of Old Bridge,Tom Quasey of Pittsburg PA. and Frank Summers of Browns Mills and 2 neices-Amber and Daisy Tucker of Browns Mills.
Calling hours will be held on Mon Oct 13 from 3-6 pm at the Tilghman Funeral Home,52 main street New Eygpt NJ.Interment will be private.

Lowery follow up

a 28 yr old pemberton twnship man died last nite (Fri.May 30 08)following a single vehichle accident on Powell Road in Eastampton NJ police said.
According to police,William Lowrey was driving east on road between Knights Bridge Road and Woodcrest Road at 9:50 pm when his vehichle left the roadway and crashed into utility pole.Lowery who was alone in the vehichle,was pronounced dead at the scene.An investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing.The accident was the 17th motor-vehichle fatality to occur in Burlington County this year,according to police statistics.

12/12/07 in Ewansville a couple who had been recently married were struck and killed while trying to cross rte 206 on a Wednesday nite.Oscar Manuel Ramos Cortez,27 and his wife Silvia Mejia Delores 19 both of Princeton Borough were crossing the highway at 5;45 pm when they were struck north bound of the intersection of Powell Road.Cortez was pronounced dead at the scene,Delores died later at the COOper Hospitol in CamdenThe driver of the car who struck them was of Staten Island New York.He also had been injured and taken to Memorial Hopitol in Mt Holly as he had tried to avoid hitting them.No charges were filed.It was a tragic accident and found nothing to indicate and wrong doing onthe drivers part. this information was obtained from Burl.COunty Newspaper December 2007.

up date on this memorial picture 3 it is no longer at the corner of high street and route 130 in Burlington as of August 5 2009.This was a 4 yr old boy who had been killed while holding a relatives hand crossing the street when a truck went thru light since I drive by often of the places I have photographed and noticed everything has been removed no doubt by the township workers or perhaps the firemen next to where the memorial was.As the Burlington fire company is also located next to that spot.Even though this site is no longer visible for all to see

it will be remembered on this site.
