LOCATED ON RTE 70 WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP AFTER MARKER 36 ON RIGHT HANDSIDE
This is in memory of a 23 yr old police officer that died.He was a Manchester Township police department badge # 1770 was struck and killed Saturday May 17/1975 by a vehichle while conducting a traffic stop on State Highway 70 at 1745 hours.Patrolman Tobias was standing five feet off of the roadway when a third vehichle left the travel lanes,sideswiped the patrol car and stopped vehichle,and struck Patrolman Tobias,who was standing next to the drivers door of the stopped vehichle.Patrolman Tobias was killed instantly.The driver of the vehichle that struck him was charged with causing a death by auto.Survived by his parents, brother and 2 sisters
